Matt talked us through what we had to do to successfully get the shots we all wanted. He spent time with us as a group and individually. I thought it was great. Mathew did a great job at introducing us to long exposure photography. Demonstrating this with use of cars, people and his cellphone light. His communication with us was great. Kept us in the loop with changes.

The Long Exposure Photography Meetup was a great way to meet others interested in photography, and gain some great tips. Matthew was great at demonstrating different concepts for us and then allowing us to try on our own. It was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend for anyone interested in learning more about long exposures.

Photo was taken over 3 months ago, couple of hours before noon. The usual birds are present however it was a bit cloudy that morning and just before moving to a different spot chance a duck flying and got lucky with this image. Title or Location: Christchurch Hospitals Chapel Gardens
This October I was visiting my brother at Christchurch hospital and noticed some beautiful flowers blooming with their blues and purples hues in the garden surrounding the chapel. I had my nikon D5500 camera and 40mm lens with me, so took the opportunity to spend sometime photographing what captured my attention. Ended up being a very precious hour of self-care spent in the chapel gardens at a bit of a stressful time. Enjoy!

I was trying for a more minimalist photo. I had a vase on a chair in front of a large window giving backlighting. Backlighting allowed the focus to be on shapes, contrast, textures. The sense of calmness I really liked. 1/125 sec F 4.2 ISO = 50 Taken in August at 1.22pm

Title or Location: Edinburgh College
This photo was taken in, and for Edinburgh College when I was studying photography there. The unit was 'Still Life' (obviously) and one of the assignments was any to use any subject but it had to be influenced by Renaissance painters. Obviously lighting style was the first issue and this is lit by a large soft box placed to the left of the subject. You can still see it reflected in the goblet.
